  1. Design expertise: Interior designers have the knowledge and experience to make your space look and feel amazing. We love working as a design+build team because we are able to look at a space and determine whether or not walls or plumbing can move...things like that! We also know about the latest and greatest products that are hitting the market as well as pricing in order to fit into your design budget.
  2. Time-saving: Designers can save you time by handling the details and coordinating everything for you. Believe it or not there are a lot of moving parts that go on behind the scenes. Emails, communicating with subcontractors and vendors, managing product and selections which is especially fun with the current supply chain issues.
  3. Budget management: Designers can work with your budget to create a design that fits your needs. We love giving our design clients that WOW factor even if there is a tight budget! There are sooooo many options out there when it comes to sourcing really cool materials that won't break the bank.
  4. Access to resources: Designers have access to a wide range of resources, such as furniture, fabrics, and materials that you might not know about. Nate and I attend the yearly IBS (international builder show) which also hosts the NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) show. We learn all about the new products that are coming to market which helps us bring the latest and greatest to all of our design projects.
  5. Personalized design: Designers can create a design that reflects your unique style and personality. We definitely put out a Hygge vibe when designing spaces and creating custom homeplans. We love creating modern spaces with a side of warmth and coziness.
  6. Problem-solving: Designers can help you solve design problems and find solutions to practical issues. Nate offers a wealth of knowledge when it comes to our extensive home renovation projects...tearing open walls, moving laundry rooms to main or upper floors, etc. And depending on budget we offer less drastic solutions as well.
  7. Coordination: Designers can coordinate with other professionals, such as architects and contractors, to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Well that totally rings true! We are fortunate to have interior design AND build all under one roof which makes for a streamlined and efficient process. As a husband and wife team we are in constant communication about all of our projects...even after hours (usually at happy hour).
  8. Increase home value: A well-designed space can increase the value of your home. Yes of course it does! Need we say more?
  9. Stress-free: Working with a designer can take the stress out of the design process and make it fun and enjoyable. We love having fun and want our clients to have some fun with us! Our golden rule for design clients: HARD STOP on Pinterest/Instagram once selections have been made. You can easily start to go down the rabbit hole on Pinterest.
  10. Long-term savings: Investing in a professional design can save you money in the long run by avoiding costly mistakes. Ok, so this is another no-brainer. We take into account so many things when working with our design and/or our build clients. Everything from site visits to review the topography and see where the sun rises and sets to giving our clients a space needs survey before setting pencil to paper.

If all of this sounds good to you + you wanna have some design and/or build fun...then hit us up!

Terrino is coming and we are psyched! What is Terrino you ask?

Terrino is the first development opportunity that we partnered with Palazzolo Design+Development. Located in Cannon township with Rockford schools and an Ada mailing address.

Terrino is a unique home opportunity in the picturesque countryside of quant Cannonsburg just mere minutes from downtown Grand Rapids, MI, and only 9 miles to downtown Ada, Michigan. This area has been long known as an active lifestyle mecca-bikers, joggers, skiers, paddle-people, fishing folks, park goers, and dog walkers abound. Also known as the 5-mile corridor this area is rapidly growing with nearby Townsend Park slated to add an additional 110 acres of paved walking/bike paths and event barns.
Terrino is designed to encourage and promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the homeowner while also creating a safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly environment.

Here are some critical aspects of our Terrino homes:
  • Indoor Air Quality: Good air quality is crucial for a healthy home. Proper ventilation, air filtration, and minimizing the use of pollutants such as tobacco smoke, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and mold are important. Using low-emission building materials, regularly changing air filters, and keeping indoor humidity levels in check can help maintain good air quality.
  • Natural Light: Adequate exposure to natural light has numerous health benefits, including mood enhancement, vitamin D synthesis, and regulating the body's circadian rhythm. We design all Terrino homes with ample windows, skylights, and light wells which maximize natural light penetration, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.
  • Water Quality: Access to clean and safe water is vital. Regular testing of water sources for contaminants and proper filtration systems can help ensure high-quality drinking water. Preventing water leaks, addressing water damage promptly, and regularly cleaning and maintaining plumbing systems are also essential for maintaining good water quality.
  • Non-toxic Materials: Using non-toxic building materials, paints, and finishes reduces the presence of harmful chemicals, such as lead, formaldehyde, and phthalates, which can adversely affect indoor air quality. The Terrino homes will feature natural stone slate exterior cladding with zero maintenance, and no off-gassing.
  • Soundproofing: Excessive noise can lead to stress, sleep disturbances, and reduced overall well-being. Incorporating soundproofing measures, such as double-glazed windows, insulation, and noise-absorbing materials, can minimize the intrusion of external noise and promote a peaceful living environment.
  • Green Spaces: Connecting with nature has numerous health benefits. Our Terrino homes will have access to green spaces and walking paths encouraging physical activity, reducing stress, and improving overall mental well-being.
Terrino is all about offering a healthy home that considers various aspects of the living environment to support the well-being of its occupants.
